
Mentorship Program
Why become a Mentor?
As a mentor, our upper-class Nextlevelz athletes will:

Experience leadership opportunities both on and off the field

Encourage, support, and assist with younger Nextlevelz athletes

Strengthen team culture, accountability, and connection across age groups
Mentor Rewards
Mentors will receive:

Verified volunteer service hours
-
Invitation to an end-of-season recognition event
Who is eligible to be a Mentor/Mentee?

14U, 15U, and 18U Nextlevelz athletes are eligible to be mentors (must apply or be nominated)

All 10U and 12U Nextlevelz athletes are eligible to be paired with an upper-class mentor
-
Each mentor may be assigned no more than two mentees, potentially across multiple skill levels
Application & Selection

Upper-class athletes must submit an application and/or be nominated by the coaching staff

Final mentor selections will be made by the coaching staff and leadership committee

Once selected, mentors are expected to commit to the program for the season
What does a Mentor do?
Mentors will receive training, guidance, and support. Core responsibilities include:

Intentionally seeking out and greeting their assigned mentee(s) at practices and events
-
Providing encouragement, positive reinforcement, and “coach-up” moments
-
Attending at least one mentee game during each tournament weekend when possible
Program Guidelines & Support

Mentors will receive a Rules of Engagement document outlining expectations, boundaries, and best practices to ensure safe, effective mentor/mentee relationships

Mentors will participate in monthly check-ins with members of the coaching staff to evaluate program effectiveness and relationship development
